Welcome!
Dear Citizens of Cottage Grove; THANK YOU! To all of you who supported me thank you and I won't disappoint you. To those of you who did not vote for me I hope I can earn your trust and respect.
I would also like to thank Pat Rice for his 12 years of service and Mark Grossklaus for his 8 years of service to the people of CG on the council and even longer on other City activities - I have alot of respect for Pat and Mark and you should too. Thank them whenever you get the chance.
As I prepare to sit again in the Council Chambers thanks to the promotion you have given me I am confident that we, as a community and team working together, can continue to make Cottage Grove a great place to live, work, play and raise families. I originally came to CG 12 yrs ago and built our house here for a couple reasons (after renting in Maple Grove for a year) – 1. My wife and I liked the school district (ISD833) after doing some substantial research and 2. We saved a substantial amount of money on our house and lot vs Woodbury!
A couple things you should know about me is that I was raised to be very frugal (like my dad), so you can be sure that if I have done my homework and still decide to spend money it is probably a “Dave Deal” or pretty close to it. “Dave Deal” def: almost FREE
Part of doing my “homework” will be getting input from as many of you as possible. I am a non-emotional analytic decision maker. I WILL make a decision when it is necessary and the more facts I have from you, the Citizens of CG, the more it will be OUR decision. I need to tell you though, from experience, that I will not be able to satisfy ALL of you, ALL the time but I will do my best to satisfy MOST of you, MOST of the time AND, to the extent that I am allowed, I will explain why I came to a particular decision.

A little bit about me
My experience in Cottage Grove: I have served all the time I can on the Planning Commission (2 consecutive terms – 5 years) and I am ready to serve in a new capacity on the City Council if you’ll have me!
My family: I have a wonderful wife named Cindy who I've been married to for almost 30 years, two twins sons named Matt and Dan who graduated from Park in 2003, and a daughter named Sarah who was in Park's Class of 2009.
